My mother was married to my father then
divorced
. She then married (xx), had an affair with my father, divorced (xx) then I was
born
(daughter of my father). Then a significant amount of
years
passed and she married (xxx). My father also remarried and has a son with his current
wife
.

This is one way of showing the somewhat complicated situation. Putting dates on the
Family Lines
would make it clearer.

Another thing I try to do when I have the same
individual
in multiple relationships is to order the relationship lines chronologically, earliest at the top. It's a small thing, but it seems (to me, anyway) to make complicated family chronologies easier to follow.
