I'm not very experienced with this software. Last semester at the university, a professor required us to create a genogram. I downloaded the software at that time. At that time, I just needed to show the individuals in my family, back three generations. I had no trouble with doing that, and the professor was rather impressed.
Recently, I've decided I want to add things to what I have, including the emotional relationships shown in the legend. I'm at a loss because I've tried everything in the help feature, and they just aren't there. I could just print it out and draw them in by hand... but that seems to defeat the purpose of using the software to do it. Can anyone help me? THANKS!

It is not easy to give specific answers to a general question, but since you have done something already, let`s start there:
1) What version are you using. If it is 1.99 you can not show emotions as shown in the legend, you have to download the Beta Version, which is at present 15f.
Many of us in this forum have started with the existing 1.99 version, but have agreed to test the Beta version, in order to make it a good/excellent product without having a manual on hand. So for the Beta version there is no manual yet. It is about going out and test all the functions, buttoms, etc. and make the best use of it. If you have problems with a specific problem, ask your question in this forum and someone will give you an answer.
I.e if you have a printing problem, what are those problems, if you want to make a report, what kind of report, may be your question is in progress to be fixed or solved in one of the next Beta versions.
Sit down, search the forum for your question and last not least try all you can.

The fact that you have seen the emotional relationship legend suggests that you have a fairly recent copy of 2Beta. However look at the download page again to see an example of what can be done. Once you know how, it is very simple. Like all things, it is the know how which can be difficult.
Select an individual: a right click with a mouse brings up a menu; the fourth line is New Emotional Relationship with an arrow pointing to the right, indicating a sub-menu; select this line and choose one of the Relationships defined there. The display then returns to your Genogram with a line connected to the original person. Move the mouse to the second person and click there and the Relationship is Defined.

Thanks to appleshaw! Your info was probably basic, but it really helped me. Its frustrating and everything takes so long when you don't know what you're doing. GenoPro is good, but the forum is great. (I'm new to posting, too.) Thanks again.
