If you want to create the split line family manually then place the cursor on the centre of the line, on the blue block, and the cursor will then change from a cross to a vertical double arrow. You can then drag the lines apart and arrange the parents and children how you want.

Personally I prefer the other method as it allows you to get more text on the display

Firstly: I just attended our family reunion and produced 16 family charts which went all around the walls of the venue - they were received enthusiastically - so thanks a million to Genopro!!!

When you do an auto arrange, the married pair are close together and the lines below are different to those when you add people manually. there is then one line that goes down to all the children. Can you get the same arrangement of lines when you work manually? I need to do manual arrangements because usually when i do auto arrange the whole thing goes topsy turvy and generations end up on all sorts of different places.
