Dear Sirs, Can you help me please. I have down loaded my entire tree to my three Sons to a memory stick suceessfully but they are unable to open the tree in Geno Pro format. I have suggested they down load your Geno Pro programme which seems to be causing them a further problem. Can you please advise me of the neccessary proceedures as I am anxious they are up todate while I'm of this world! and here to help them develop there extensions to thier growing families. I have suggested they download your Geno Pro programme which seems to be causing them a further problem.
Can you tell me more why they can't install GenoPro? If they only want to see your family tree they can use GenoPro without even register...

Thankyou for your prompt reply.
It would seem that they have down loaded Geno Pro but my saved document will not open.
Do I need to save the tree in a specail format?

Further to my last request,should I be 'Eporting ' my tree to another file format and then saving.
Have just tried one and it opened with atype of 'word' document.
Am getting very confused!!!

If you copy your file GenoPro.exe, from the c:\Program Files\GenoPro directory, onto the memory stick, that should work. I have created Cds in this way before
You can even make things simpler by adding a starting line
GenoPro.exe YourTree.gno
On a memory stick create a file in notepad with this instruction and save it as gno.bat, or any name that is easily remembered. This can then either be run by clicking the name in explorer or use the Run command of the Start menu and browse

If you put the files on a disc you can add an Autorun.inf file which will load the files automatically. It might be possible to do this on a memory stick but a quick test did not work.
Use Notepad to make a file Autorun.inf
[autorun]
open=GenoPro.exe Yourtree.gno
icon=GenoPro.exe
This might work. Probably depends on how AutoRun is set up on your PC. My Avira AntiVirus gets in the way
