I know I've seen (and contributed to) discussions about such things for GenoPro in the past, but nothing is coming up in my forum searches. Apologies for creating yet another thread on this topic.
Anyway, I'm hoping that GenoProX will have support for multiple dating systems, in particular allowing BCE dates when using the standard CE date convention. As I've mentioned before, I work with a lot of ancient, legendary, and mythical genealogies in addition to researching my own family, and this is probably the feature that would have the single biggest positive impact on the program for my purposes. Yes, even more than AutoSave.

The internal date format of GenoProX will be completely different than GenoPro 2016. The goal if GenoProX is to capture the date & time of the event (birth, death, wedding, etc) by allowing the user to enter the date in any calendar, and GenoProX will convert the date at the moment of the display. Nowadays computers are much faster, so there is no need to have a pre-computed value stored as it is the case of GenoPro 2016. This way, if someone enters a date with the Hebrew calendar, however wants to display the family tree with the Gregorian calendar, then GenoProX will do the conversion on the fly. GenoProX is likely to memoize the result to improve the performance.

I like the way you describe this. But what about BCE / CE dates in the Julian and Gregorian calendars? I do a lot of historical and legendary genealogy work, particularly Greek and Roman, and being able to bridge the BCE gap seamlessly would be very nice indeed.

This is why the implementation of the date will be different: to support different calendars and epoch (BC, AD). There are calendars having shorter epoch time, such as some Japanese calendars which the epoch restart at every emperor.
