Instead of the actual display format such as: 11 5765 מאי the same should appear (in fact) as: 5765 מאי 11 I know that the cause of the problem is purely technical (because of the Windows) but is should be solved. For the same reason, I couldn't write 11 both on the right side of the Hebrew word "May" and on the same line. The Hebrew (English) format is correct.

The month should be the Hebrew month and not the Gregorian one. 5765 is the Hebrew year תשסה, May or מאי is a Gregorian month...

Beta 16b displays the date 6 Jun 2006 as follows: 5766 סיוון 11 This is the best GenoPro can do because it is Windows who changes the text direction.

Beta 16b displays the date 6 Jun 2006 as follows: 5766 סיוון 11 This is the best GenoPro can do because it is Windows who changes the text direction. Is the name of the month in Hebrew a translation of GenoPro or it is Windows in origin? If it is GenoPro then I suggest translating the numbers as well. This way all of the date will be in Hebrew and be read by windows from right to Left.

One more estethical correction needed: Instead of the Latin transcriptions Adarl and Adarll, you should use Adar(A) and Adar(B) or - at least - Adar(l) and Adar(ll). The first recommended choice is the best. Yehudad (6/6/2006) If it is GenoPro then I suggest translating the numbers as well. This way all of the date will be in Hebrew and be read by windows from right to Left. If you decide to use Hebrew transcription for numbers as well, then I've already sent you the entire algorithm of doing it

First of all, thank you Dan for the great work on this program. Secondly, the conversion to Hebrew calendar is still off in the latest version (16c). A simple check will explain: Start with Julian calendar, enter a date (e.g. 9 Dec 1990) Bug 1: Translating to "Hebrew (English)" brings up 6 Tevet 5751, which actually should be 22 Kislev 5751. Translation into the Hebrew Language is consistant, which brings up 5751 טבת 6, a correct translation of 6 Tevet 5751. Bug2: Translating to the default language, with a Hebrew calendar brings up 6 אוקטובר 5751, which is 6 Oct 5751 in Hebrew Bug 3: Bringing up Hebrew Calendar with English shows 6 Oct 5751, which has no meaning - There should be consistancy between the year and type of calendar. Request 1: Place Calendar type to the right of the dates within parenthesis, e.g. 9 Dec, 1990 (J) or 22 Dec 1990 (G). Request 2: As previously requested, have an indicator for after sunset (when using non-Hebrew calendars) Likewise, an indicator of before midnight or after midnight for Hebrew calendars.

Okay guys, I need you to confirm the date conversion at http://familytrees.genopro.com/DateConvertCalendar.aspx. Once this is correct, I will fix it in GenoPro.

(he-IL):(two rows) The conversion is basically OK. Not CORRECTION, but COMPLETION: Taking into consideration the fact that (acc.to the Hebrew calendar) you're going to deal (at least) with the entire period of years 1-5999, here is my observation: The Hebrew year just displayed (in Hebrew) in your example is תשס"ו which means 766. This form is used only in order to deal with any IMMEDIATE period of time, nearby the present. In your standard form you shouldn't ignore (in any way) the "thousands". Therefore: 766 should only mean 766 and should be written תשס"ו ,while ... 1766 should only mean 1766 and should be written א'תשס"ו ,while ... 2766 should only mean 2766 and should be written ב'תשס"ו ,while ... 3766 should only mean 3766 and should be written ג'תשס"ו ,while ... 4766 should only mean 4766 and should be written ד'תשס"ו , and while ... 5766 should only mean 5766 and should be written ה'תשס"ו and ALSO: Please pay attention, at my previous recommendation about using Adar(A) and Adar(B) in Latin, instead of Adarl and Adarll GenoProSupport (6/8/2006)Once this is correct, I will fix it in GenoPro. Before fixing it in GenoPro, please bring also a conversion example dealing with Adar(A) and Adar(B). Pay also attention (during the debugging) at the fact that Adar(B) doesn't exist under 5766. and one more MUST here reminded: Alfi (6/6/2006)
Each national (e.g.Hebrew) date should appear under the international one (in parallel) and N T instead of it !!! and LAST (but not least): I can see a Hebrew transcription of the international/gregorian date, but ... there's no Latin transcription of the Hebrew date. (in your table)

Dan, I am extremely sorry, but I led you astray... the conversion was correct in Hebrew, so that Bug1 in my previous post was not a bug. The mistake was mine, as I started off with a Julian Calendar instead of Gregorian. Very sorry about this... Bug2 actually is only a partial bug: When using the default language with the Gregorian Calendar, the Gregorian date is displayed correctly, only in Hebrew, which is fine. The problem cropped up when using the Hebrew Calendar and then specifying the default language, which brought up Sept. 23, 5751 (in Hebrew). This is actually an extension of Bug3. Bug3 remains as described in earlier post. Lastly, I concur with Alfi's email. the check looks fine, but please do not remove the English translation of the Hebrew date (e.g. 23 Kislev, 5751)

I found another problem. For example: I have someone who was born at about 1917. The Hebrew year is either 5677 or 5678. Converting to the Hebrew calander in Hebrew (English) gives: ~-0952 which is, of course, wrong. The correct conversion, if possible, is 5677/5678, since the Hebrew year is changing during the Gregorian year. If this is not possible, I would suggest converting to 5677, since the Hebrew year change happens at about September/October.
