I'm new to this posting so forgive me if I err.
I could not find this problem with a search.

The information balloons that pop up when the mouse rests on a line or something, has disappeared. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've had the program for several years and never had this problem.

Does anyone know if certain software/hardware, will make it stop? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm using version 1.99c on W2K. "Data tips button is checked".

Yes I too lost all data tips when using the Beta version of GenoPro. I eventually discovered it was down to some settings for the driver of my graphics adapter and nothing at all to do with GenoPro. Unfortunately I can't remember the specific setting that caused the problem. I have a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX400 graphics card. I do remember I then installed a later version of the driver and all was OK.

P.S. If you haven't already tried the Beta version of GenoPro I suggest you do. Its vastly superior to version 1.

The tooltips (datatips, balloons) are a MFC feature and sometimes they disappear.  I don't know how or why they go away.  In 2007, I will write rich datatips and make sure they can stay visible so the user can read its content.

Thanks to all.

I'll look for the setting on the graphics card. Maybe I can find it.
I'd rather wait for the stable 2 version, for now.
Anybody else got a suggestion for the 1.99c version?

I'll look for the setting on the graphics card. Maybe I can find it.

Changing the graphic card may speed up graphics, but won't change the display of the tooltips.

Anybody else got a suggestion for the 1.99c version?

My best suggestion is to download & install the latest Beta.  The beta is a solid product.

I found the problem that "I" caused.

I had run a "registry cleaner" and it got rid of some lines that make the balloons/data-tips possible. I simply re-inserted the missing lines from the backup, rebooted and all was fine.

I hope I didn't waste anyones time over this, but on the other hand, a possible solution for others has been found. (BTW - the cleaner did help speed up the machine)

Thank again to all of you and I hope this will help someone else.
