I need a sanity check on this. When I'm on a individual's page, and I click either a place or a source, the popup frame shows, but is empty (apart from the close and maximize buttons.

I customize my report skin, so my first thought was I'd broken the report.

However I've just used downloaded & extracted & used the vanilla Narrative_2012.09.20 skin to create a completely new web report and this is doing the same thing:
http://familytrees.genopro.com/HarryCaper/Waltons_acornoliveteal2/default.htm

I get the same result in Firefox, Chrome and IE.

Additionally I see the same problem when I look at powery's report http://familytrees.genopro.com/powery/

I thought it might be my machine, so I rebooted it - no change. I also connected to a citrix server at work, and get the same problem there.

I'm confused Ermm

Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas why this might be happening?

I'm hoping I'm having a senior moment, and everything is working really.

(btw, just tested right-clicking the link and opening in a new tab - this works)

thanks,
Harry

Ok, I think I've narrowed it down a bit...

This report is broken as described above.
http://familytrees.genopro.com/HarryCaper/Waltons_acornoliveteal2/default.htm

This report is working. The ONLY change was to switch the "Display MIT Simile timelines for individuals, families & genomaps" option from "yes" to "no"
http://familytrees.genopro.com/HarryCaper/Waltons_acornoliveteal3/default.htm

So I suspect the origin of the problem lies somewhere in the timeline code.

This is a strange one (but then many of the bugs seem to be!)

What I am seeing is just the default popup.htm page in the revealed 'popup' frame which hasn't been reloaded with the required information page.  e.g. when clicking the Wikipedia' source at the bottom of John-Boy's page then it should get replaced with source-source0001.htm but doesn't.

I have tried debugging this with the Chrome Developer Tools without real success.  source-source0001.htm gets retrieved and scripts in it run but the frame content doesn't change.  Once I managed to get a reference error for the Google Analytics  'urchinTracker' function.  I wonder if this could be the culprit?

Does the problem occur on a local disc copy or on a server that doesn't have Analytics inserted?

It works on a local copy (with the timeline), which doesn't have the analytics inserted.

If it is the analytics, it would explain why it has suddenly started happening. The decision to insert analytics came after the last release of the narrative skin - which I'm pretty sure worked as designed when we tested it...
