After apparently installing the new Skins for 8/3/13, error messages have disappeared and the script appears to run. Photos recently added to my local genoPro file did get posted to my website. I had thought it was all fixed. However, when I now try to add new photos to the web, they fail to appear. The script shows these new photos have already uploaded to the website, but they fail to appear on the web. Please Advise. - Lionel

have you tried clearing your browser cache?
|
By llewit - Thursday, August 8, 2013
|
Yes, I tried refreshing and deleting history.

Refreshing and deleting history is not the same as clearing the local browser cache. If you are using Internet Explorer have you tried deleting temporary Internet files?
|
By llewit - Thursday, August 8, 2013
|
I deleted temporary internet files with no change and it still failed to show new pictures.

Ok. It is probably not possible to take this further without seeing the website and examining the pages for errors.
Are you happy to send me a link and details via Private Message (PM) on this forum? At the moment it cannot see how the script is reporting an up to date timestamp on a thumbnail image that isn't actually there. I assume that you believe both the generated thumbnail and the actual photo are missing. I also presume you have not set the 'Link to all files from my computer' or Link to all files from my local network' checkboxes under the options tab of the Generate Report dialog.

I first want to say that I am Lionel's son, Alan, and I am trying to assist my father with this dilemma.
I tried an experiment this morning that may help in ascertaining the issue.
I created a new tree in a different folder by adding a 2 onto the host target.
So, instead of ...familytrees.genopro.com/Silberling, I specified ...familytrees.genopro.com/Silberling2
As I expected, ALL the photos were uploaded into the new site.
Next, I asked Lionel to add one more photograph to the "new" tree and upload.
The result was that this last photograph did not show on the tree (although it did show as uploaded in the upload display as shown below)
Thumbnail for C:\Users\Lionel\Documents\Silberling Tree\The Gown.JPG is already up to date
Thumbnail for C:\Users\Lionel\Documents\Silberling Tree\cutting the cake.JPG is already up to date
Thumbnail for C:\Users\Lionel\Documents\Silberling Tree\At the falls in St. Lucia.jpg is already up to date
Thumbnail for C:\Users\Lionel\Documents\Silberling Tree\Sammy ringbearer.jpg is already up to date <-THIS IS THE PHOTO WE TRIED TO ADD TO THE NOW ESTABLISHED NEW SILBERLING TREE.
As per your request, I will send you the site and password combination via private message.
thank you

I notice that the Individual's page that referenced the photo is also not updated. It would appear that the thumbnail images are actually uploaded but not the pictures or the updated refering page.
So I am now thinking that perhaps the cause is that you have the 'Resume Report' checkbox set under the Options tab of the Generate Report dialog. Is this the case? I have never used this setting myself but its description is that only new pages are added and so could lead to the situation you have seen. GenoPro always compares an updated page with the previous version via a checksum of the contents and only copies pages up to the web site if the checksums differ and so the 'Resume Report' setting is somewhat redundant.

I'm having the same problem. I have yet to find the Narrative Report download. I have noticed that my GenoPro folder does not have a Skins folder. I am running version 2.5.4.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit version. Update: If I select New Skin from the Report screen, then a Skins folder is created but still receive the same error message.

Did you read the topic in which you have posted? The second post in this topic has a link to a post where you can download the Latest Narrative report. That post has a link to a post describing how to install the new skin. If you are still having problems with the report after following the instructions there please post again. Note also that all updated report skins are pinned to the start of the Report Generator Forum to make them easier to find.

My apologies. I hadn't scrolled to the very bottom of the page that listed all the changes in the application. Found it and downloaded it. Hopefully that'll fix the problem.

No worries. I know things can be hard to find here.
A tip: I have changed preferences in Forum Settings under My Profile (link in page header above) to set Topic Display option to Flat Descending so that the later posts in a topic appear first and I don't then have to scroll through all that has gone before before seeing the latest posts.
