Bonjour,

Comment peut-on inscrire des évènements dont la date est connue en référence au calendrier révolutionnaire français ?

Cordialement,

Jacques

Hi,

How can I enter events with French Revolutionary Calendar date  (e.g. 6 prairial year IX)?

Thanks

Jacques

Such dates can be entered into any date field as plain text but GenoPro will not perform any calculations such as age or duration because the French Revolutionary Calendar is not one of supported calendars.  Right click on a date field to see supported date calendars.

Thanks,

So it seems I need to convert it and add the true date as a comment.

If by 'correct' date you mean the Revolutionary Calendar date then as I said you can still type this in the required date field (birth, death etc.).  You can also enter the age at death manually as GenoPro will not calculate it.  Also GenoPro will then only show either the date of birth or date of death as the top label, but not both, for individuals in the genomap display.

This can be overcome by using the XML Toolkit for GenoPro skin to genrate the required top label in a custom tag.

On a related note, is GenoPro any closer to supporting different calendars (FrRev, Hebrew, Chinese, and particularly negative years for BC/AD)?

Thanks again for the still-excellent software, despite our ever-increasing list of feature requests! Look at it this way: If it weren't good software, we wouldn't be demanding improvements; we'd just find other programs that do the job. If the slow pace of development in recent years is due to revenue, I for one would happily pay for each significant upgrade, or pay more as a one-time payment for the program as a whole. It's extremely reasonable compared to the cost of some genealogy software on the market.
