Hi

I Have bought Genopro 2011 License March 2008 (Email : tamir12@yahoo.com).
Do I have to pay for an upgrade for Genopro 2016? or Should I use my registration Key ?

Thanks

Tamir

The GenoPro 2016 upgrade is $15 which also gives you tokens for GenoProX.  If you purchase the package SponsorFamily at $25, you get a permanent registration key for GenoProX Family.

I don't see an option to purchase a GenoPro 2016 upgrade for $15.  How can I do that?

Are you using the Registration Wizard? http://support.genopro.com/FindPost35711.aspx

Some years ago I purchased a gold membership which was supposed to be a lifetime membership.  I haven't been able to use my Genopro 2011 for about a year and tried to contact the company to no avail.  Now they want another $15.00 for 2016 and no guarantees it will work.

We do our best to reply to every single question. GenoPro 2016 is way for us to finance the whole re-build of GenoPro from scratched.

Your current version of GenoPro 2011 is still valid forever and you are welcome to re-download it at http://www.genopro.com/2011/ . As always feel free to test GenoPro 2016 before you purchase an upgrade.

Dears,
I upgraded my old license to genopro 2016 a month ago for 15USD and today, by mistake, I've bought a new one for 49USD. Can I receive a reimbursement?
Thanks
Giuseppe.

I voided your second purchase, and also added the email @taller-acsa.org to your GenoPro account, so you may access your GenoPro key and backups from either email address.

I have a similar experience. Purchased the software some years ago and found that it had so many bugs it was not worth using (see separate posts). When I received information that the software had been re-written from the bottom up, thought that the investment of $15 may be worthwhile. However, having made the payment, I am first of all wondering if the software is any better, but more importantly whether I have only subscribed for 6 months? If so, I would very much appreciate return of my monies

Thanks

The new GenoProX is completely different: I posted 2 screenshots at http://support.genopro.com/FindPost35573.aspx to show how it will be possible to compare and merge individuals with GenoProX.  Every line of code is being re-written; no copy & paste.

The subscription is for the GenoShare:
  • Complete real time collaboration tools to edit a family tree or Genogram.
  • Private, secure, encrypted text, voice and video chat with any other member of your platform.
  • Private Family Social Network where you will be able to share posts, pictures, videos, invites, surveys and polls.
  • Private encrypted storage on our secure servers.
As a GenoProX user, you have 2 options:
  1. Purchase a permanent registration key of GenoProX (similar as GenoPro 2016) and use it standalone.  For $1 per month, you may upgrade to GenoShare.  Those who purchased the upgrade package SPONSOR GenoProX Family at $25 already have a permanent key of GenoProX, plus 1 year of GenoShare and 12 premium tokens (which have the ability to extend GenoShare to another 12 months for anyone).
  2. Purchase a premium subscription which gives you GenoProX and GenoShare.  After 4 years, you get a permanent key of GenoProX anyways.  The subscription offers a lower initial cost and your software is always up-to-date.

I think all of that means that despite having purchased the software a number of years ago, then paid an additional $15 today, that in six months I will not have the software? So wish I wasn't so naive as to lose my money twice. If Genopro is reputable, it will refund my monies immediately forthwith

Somewhere on this forum there will be details about Genopro16. This is the first paid for upgrade of the earlier version and does not expire. I have had it, at no extra cost of my initial purchase, for nearly 15 years and think $15 is good value.
You can keep using Genopro, even when the new version is released. It will be up to you whether you think the extra features are of interest

Your $15 gives you the upgrade of GenoPro 2016 plus a 14 months of GenoShare collaboration: 6 months of membership and 8 Premium Tokens which you may use personally, or give to someone else.  The membership and the premium tokens will also give you access to our premium support.  The current business model of giving unlimited support to users who purchased GenoPro 15 years ago is not sustainable.

Since I do not know what Genoshare collaboration or Premium Tokens even refer to, I am not placing any value on these. I just hope that whereas I could not upload recent editions of the family tree to the Web, that now I will be able to. Further, I do not wish to keep subscribing to software that I was not previously able to get support for. What the software is doing is not exactly rocket science and is much simpler than the software I am use in my profession

This is why we offer them at great discount.  In your case, you paid $15 for an permanent upgrade of GenoPro 2016.  The registration key you purchased for GenoPro 2016 is permanent, as it will never expire and you may use GenoPro 2016 forever without paying any extra.  With your $15 purchase, we also gave you 6 months of GenoShare and 8 Premium Tokens.  The GenoShare is similar as Google Docs where multiple users may edit the same document (family tree) simultaneously.  This is a unique feature in genealogy.

Hello,
I got genopro last monday and you told me that I was being upgraded to pro. I still can't access the emotional relationships icon and  I need to drop my genogram homework Monday. Do I need a different key? If so, I haven't gotten an e-mail with it. Please reply ASAP.
Thanks.

The new upgrade has not changed anything regarding the emotional relationships.  Your key is always valid for GenoPro 2011 at http://www.genopro.com/2011/ .  If you need a temporary key to complete your assignment, feel free to use the following key 3-HWPT-KQP4-ZBFV-TMP which is valid for 6 months.

Does not exist a special key to play with emotions!

I think I asked this before, but I can't find my earlier post. Because of the change in licensing structure from GenoPro 2011 to the new version, what I would like to see is a way to keep 2011 installed when installing the new version, particularly before the new version is finalized. Because they are licensed differently, I think this should be an available option. This is the biggest thing (in fact, the only thing) discouraging me from installing the new version now, because I have a rather large project in progress and I want to be sure that it's always accessible.

Thanks!

If you change the default folder for installation of the new version of GenoPro (eg change to GenoPro2016), both versions can be run independently although they will access the same file if you have the option 'Automatically reload of last document at startup' selected in the Options menu.

Many thanks! I wasn't sure if a simple change of the install directory would be sufficient. Some program installation packages search for older versions and remove them, and I didn't want to take that chance. Satisfied

GenoPro will uninstall a previous version only if you install the new version in the same folder.  On my computer, I have about a dozen installations of GenoPro, one for each major update, so when a user/customer has a bug, I have the specific version ready to use.

I purchased a license update today for my GenoPro Gold to update to 2016 version.  Unfortunately, I received 2 registration keys and 2 invoices for $49.00.  It wasn't my intention to purchase the key twice.  I received a message that it did not go through and to re-submit my information.  Apparently that was not accurate since it went through twice.  Please refund my $49.00 for the second invoice.

Tyrone, I voided your second purchase.

Trying to figure out how to upgrade our academic license to the new version.  Our students are trying to download the 2011 version and getting confused because the installation program tell them that it's only good for a short time.  I'm assuming if we update they will get 2016 and it will be good forever.

Not sure how to do the upgrade online since it asks for a registration key and we have a url for downloading.  The registration key is listed as having expired 172 days ago.

I sent you a private email message regarding your site license and a link to download your site license of GenoPro 2011 which you have paid and welcome to continue to use forever without paying any extra.
