Hello

I have just upgraded to V2b15h from V2b13h. The main reason is the great SVG viewer that is included.

Now, I have an odd question:

Is it possible to include some of the pictures in the family tree and exclude some others. You might ask why? Well, I have some older family members who use dial up internet running at 56kbits/sec. I have reduced the size of the pictures to about 50kbytes each. Even with these small pictures, an individual might have up to 5 pictures in the report (spouse and children etc). With a 56kbit connection, this individual may take up to a minute to download. I get complaints from these family members that clicking on some individuals there is no response. Then, some time later they say that "oh, now we have it".

You see, there is no way I can include quality pictures of 600Kbytes each in those reports. But I would like to include them anyway to generate reports that I could copy onto a CD or HDD where the response would be no problem.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

We will eventually re-enable the privacy filter.  One feature of the privacy filter will offer the option to exclude some or all pictures.

Hi

Thank you for the reply.

V2b15h has a privacy filter in the Tools/Generate Report section, but this filter does not offer such an option. Also, the individual properties window doesn't offer the option to make a picture private that I can find.

Does your comment mean that at a later date these will be included?

Thanks

Beta 15a and 15b had a privacy filter capable to delete/remove the pictures.  This privacy filter was removed because its architecture was not suitable for future growth and also because it was difficult to use.

See post Problems using the Privacy Filter for details.
