Hello

I would like to report an error occurring during a report generation.

I am using V2b18g and did the same in V2b18e.

I have a number family trees, all made with GenoPro. Recently I noticed the option of linking children to parents as twins. I have a couple of instances with twins in two different trees.

The way I format the twins is by selecting both children (who are the twins) and then press the New Twins button on the toolbar. This changes the links to merge into the one point. It looks great. Now, selecting the report generator and pressing the Generate button causes the generator to go through it paces until it reached the parent of the twins and reports an error:

 Error at line 368 (Code/Lang.vbs) generating 'Bl-Ag-ind00008.htm': Illegal assignment: 'i'

Microsoft VBScript runtime error 800A01F5

At this point the report generation stops processing without finishing the report.

I hope someone knows how to fix this.

I'm not sure that the problem is with the Twins.

Are you using your own skin for the Report or GenoPro's default?

This problem can be easily fixed.  If you send a sample .gno file producing the bug, I can fix it today.  You are welcome to use the Send file command and send your file to GenoPro.

GenoProSupport,

I think that I am sending you on a wild goose chase. I tried the original report generator that comes with V2b18g and it works o/k.

I made some changes to the report genartor, but nothing I believed could affect just the twins.

The changes have to do with the font used, the font sizes, display options and the files generated instead of index.html and default.htm. All these appear to work.

How would you suggest I troubleshoot this as I need the changes I made.

Thanks

This is what I noticed.  The English Narrative Report gives no error.  Have you checked in the Code folder to see if Lang.vbs and Util.vbs have not changed?

I think I found the problem.

In config.xml one of the changes I made was to:

    fHideFamilyDetails="Y"

online 77 to a "N". I can change this option on and off and cause the report generator to crash as I said above or not.

I would like the option to be:

    fHideFamilyDetails="N"

I don't believe that the report generator should crash under this circumstance.

Thanks

Have you checked in the Code folder to see if Lang.vbs and Util.vbs have not changed?

Those file are changing from time to time. Those files as well as the Report generator itself contain a set of functions and methods that the Report Generator is using. When one of them is changed and you are still using it on your own skin, it can cause the Report Generator to crash (because it can't find the proper method it seeks)...

Error at line 368 (Code/Lang.vbs) generating 'Bl-Ag-ind00008.htm': Illegal assignment: 'i'

Microsoft VBScript runtime error 800A01F5

Can you state the code line that the error message is reffering to?

Is it:

For i = 0 to oRepertoryTwins.Entry("F" & obj.id).count-1
   strTwinId = oRepertoryTwins.Entry("F" & obj.id).Object(i)
   WriteNarrativeTwin oRepertoryTwins.Entry(strTwinId).Object(0)
Next
