I tried uploading a tree on to my we site and unfortunately just a few URLs from the Name Index worked out of approx 200. What could cause this?

They worked fine when testing from my hard drive but not on the web site.

Kind regards
Tony

Dear Sirs,

Many thanks for helping.

I think I have solved the problem myself, as it started working suddenly, but I still get double ups in the Name Index. In the beginning I got all people in the tree doubled up in teh Name Index and after a few retries I got it better. Now there are only a few double ups.

I do not think that I have understood how to get the diagram from the tree correctly.

I copied the whole tree from a Genogram in to a second Genogram in teh same document and then selected the top person for a link formmteh frist Genogram and moved that person on to the second Genogram and same person. Then I got all double up in the left had side Name Index listing. I then deleted all in the first Genogram but not the top perrson that I hyperlinked on to in the second Genogram. No its is better but I still have about 3-4 double ups.

If I could get a good example how to do this correctly I would be very happy. I also have a fried who is quite good on web sites ect and he has also the same problem.

My web site is http://www.thelning.com and then click on the button "TREES" and then the tree for "Anders Telning (NEW)". This is my trail tree I am working on now.

Thanks you again and look forward to hear from you.

Kind regards Tony

P.S otherwise I am extremely happy and pleased what you have done with GenoPro.

Can you give me the exact URL where the problem occurs.  I visited your website and found a few reports - all appear to be working fine.  I found a report at http://home.pacific.net.au/~thelning/Tree/Treepart_anders/ which is complete.

By the way, have you tried to publish your family tree at http://familytrees.genopro.com/.  We spent a great time to configure our server to make sure all the features of the report generator and its corresponding files (.svg, .svgz, .es, .gno) are served properly.

Hi again and thanks for quick reply.

I have just found out why I have several double ups. It is because of when I select all in a tree and copy it to the new Genomap and then go back to create a link from the top person in the frist Genomap on to the second genomap and then go back to the first one and select all all exept the top person, some people further down in the tree did not get selected and and therefore not deleated.

I have now made a new tree to up load but I still have the top person Sven Andressson doubled up. If I take him away in my first Genomap and deleat that one so that I only have my second map, then I can not see the diagram on the web site.

Here is my exact link:

http://home.pacific.net.au/~thelning/Tree/Treepart_anders/default.htm

Kind regards

Tony

Dear Sirs,

I have now uploaded a new tree with ony one double up on, which is the first person in the tree. Not knowing if I do this the right way I will send the file to your sight.

First I did not see the diagram at all on my web site and thought that this was a fault untill I much later clicked on the up or down arrows and then came the diagram up. How can I make the diagram start at the top of the tree and bee seen staright away?

Regards

Tony

Dear Sirs,

Eureka as they say. I finally understood what to do and its all working very nicely now.

Basically when I first up loaded my tree to the web site and wanted to look at the diagram I did not see anything and thought that this was a problem.

I have now done a new three generating the html document from a new .gno file where I fount that it is very important to center the whole tree. Otherwise it may open up in the diagram on your web site so that nothing is seen as in my case.

It was no need at all do do any hyperlinking between 2 genomaps which I fisrt thought.

Gentlemen, sorry for all this hassle, but I am now very pleased with your program which I bought about approx 5 year ago and as we say i Sweden: "If you wait for something good, you can never wait too long" Congratulation and well done to a just fantastic program that certainly has all the bells and whistles.

Kind regards
Tony

This is a known problem, as GenoPro centers each GenoMap before publishing it online.  The problem is sometimes the center of a GenoMap may be completely blank, depending on the layout.

One solution would be to specify a bookmark when opening a GenoMap.  If no bookmark is specified, GenoPro would center the display.  If no object is visible in the center of the display, GenoPro would find the first visible object.

You can use the Report parameter fSvgZoomExtent to ensure the full Genomap is displayed in the SVG graphic. This can be set in a customised report skin or using the Document Custom Tags method as explained in http://support.genopro.com/FindPost15845.aspx. Just create an additional Document Custom Tag named fSvgZoomExtent and set it to Y.
