Hi, I'm a new user and I am trying to use genopro for an assignment. We have to send our teacher our genogram as an attachment and I'm not sure how to do it. Will it open up in powerpoint? Any help will be appreciated.

You need to start by Exporting the genogram as a MetaFile. In theory you could send that as an attachment but the .emf format is not widely supported and an unreadable file might not be well received.

Some of the free software programs such as IrfanView or PhotoFiltre will open such a file and will then save it in a more common format such as .gif or .png. If the diagram is large then there may be a loss of detail and you will need a more advanced program such as Canvas 8 This can be less easy with a large diagram - there is information elsewhere on this forum if you need it

If your teacher has GenoPro, then there is an option to send your genogram directly from the program. Go to File|Send... and your file can be loaded onto GenoPro's server for your teacher to download. If your teacher doesn't already have GenoPro, then (s)he should download and install it - it is free to use as a viewer.
