For people that are living is it possible to change the Date format in the reports to be Month and Year(ignore the day) or just Year. Leaving those that are deceased with a full Date of Birth. I can't track down in the code how to do this, any suggestions.

The only filter available at this time is on the Report Generator, Privacy tab.  Tick the box to remove all living individuals and then select the criteria below to allow some detail to be included on the report

I have tried this and it really does not do what I want. I think it is a case of dive in and get my hands dirty with a change to the report generation code.

Look at line 304 of Code\Lang.vbs
 Report.WritePhrase StrDicMFU("PhBirth",strGender), strName, b.Date.ToStringNarrative, b.Place.Session("HlinkLocative"), ba.Date.ToStringNarrative, _
    ba.Place.Session("HlinkLocative"), ba.Officiator.Title, StrFormatText(i, ba.Officiator), (b.Place.ID = ba.Place.ID), _
    StrFormatText(i, b.Doctor), b.PregnancyLength.Months,  b.PregnancyLength.Weeks, strPnR, b.CeremonyType, strNamePossessive, strGender

As a start, try replacing b.Date.ToStringNarrative with Util.IfElse(i.IsDead, b.Date.ToStringNarrative, Util.IfElse(b.Date.Year <> "". "in " & b.Date.Year,""))

I have not tested this however. N.B. I you use a custom skin you will need to re-apply your changes at every new release you want to use.

If you set your Report Geneerator panel Privacy tab like this:

you should still see all your alive Inds within the web Report but without mention of their birthdays.

To me, you don't need to alter Lang.vbs and your hands should remain clean.

Ron, brilliant slight mod required to add a space in " in " and a comma instead of a full stop and hey-presto. But this still leaves the full date in the Ancestor Pedigree Chart and the Personal Timeline. I hope there are no other places the full birth date occurs! Any more ideas on how to tackle the remaining areas. Help much appreciated.

JC, Thanks for that but it seems if you apply Privacy tab solution all the photos for the living are not included in the report. Or have I got another setting wrong?
