Auto-arrange do not work properly for large trees (with multiple children). Is there any workaround ?
Will Genopro implement a "collapse-expand tree" feature ?

You can Auto-arrange a selection and then manually adjust things. Short answer is that it is better to use manual arrange on a large tree and also to split it, certainly if there are more than 500 people. Some recommend a maximum of 200 although I find this can be exceeded
