Hi,
1) I would like to attach several "External Hyperlinks" such as PDF documents to the same individual in order to generate hot links in the Narrative Reports and it seems that only one External Hyperlink is possible per individual. Is there a way to do this? I tried ways around this and I found that i could use the "Notes" and "Comments" fields, but they are not always convenient, especially if I want to attach additional information containing both text and pictures. Another way would be to merge all information into one PDF document, and to use the "External Hyperlink" feature, but it would sometimes mix information which is only remotely related one to the other (such as detailed professional career with info, pictures on employers, or military duty, campaigns with pictures, maps).
2) Also, trying to decipher the Dictionary.XML, I think I saw that there are features (or plans?) to generate hot links not just for Individuals, but also Family, Place and Picture:
<!-- 0=tranlated Object type (Individual, Family etc.) --> <FmtAdditionalInformation T="{0} Additional Information" Test="Individual|Family|Place|Picture" />
but could not find how and where to do that. Did I miss something?
Thank you for help. My apologies if this is not the correct forum fot these question. Kind regards
Roland Schaeffer

You can create a large number of external hyperlinks that will appear in a report. Open the Sources tab and give the link a name. Then click Edit and on the next menu you can enter an address under Source File or URL. In theory you can Browse to a file on your PC but the Report produces a link containing a reference the browser can not use. (The link will work on your own PC from within GenoPro). However if you paste/type an internet address this will work. Click OK to get back to the first menu: click New to repeat the process

Thank you for your reply.
I had already tested the "Sources" method, and gave up using it to link additional information pages to an individual when I found out that only external internet URL addresses can be accessed. But I use it and it works fine for the few individuals in my family tree who have personal info on the net (personal blogs, websites or wikipedia, e.g.).
If nothing else pops up, the "External Hyperlink" method probably remains the best way for me to achieve what I was trying to do. I found out that the "Preserve Full Path" box must be ticked off, otherwise the computer does not find the hyperlinked document. The documents should be .pdf or .svg and they then open as soon as you click on their links. Word documents can also be accessed, but you are first asked by the computer if you wish to open the document. This "Full Path" requirement probably (I did not test it yet) kills my hopes of a portable "Narrative Report" which I could carry along on a DVD and show on other computers with all its functionalities.
Kind regards
Roland

Roland Does the option of creating a GenoPro Dvd answer your requirements? I have created disc versions that Autorun using 'open=GenoPro.exe family.gno'. You miss all of the bells & whistles Ron has added, such as Google map or timeline, but you have all of the data, including links to Source documents

Creating a self-contained GenoPro DVD could be a fall-back solution with all its links already in place to access pictures and documents. I would not have to worry if the system will find the path to a picture.
Kind regards
