I have recently obtained some data from another person and would like to add a source to that effect.
I have tried creating a source and then use the table to copy it in the source column of an individual. This will not work.
Does anyone knowof an alternative approach?

You might like to try the program available at http://www.genlit.org/agr/GAddSource.php to add the source info to the gedcom before import.  I gave it a quick test and seems to work fine.

Thanks for that. Found you need to leave the first line; put Source as Title; leave last 3 descriptions - rest of line can be blank.
Not sure what it does if there is a source there already. suspect it is overwritten
