Is there a way to add hidden or private
information
on an
individual
without everyone seeing it on the published
tree
.
For example, say there's a
family
story that you haven't confirmed yet, or written in a "tasteful" way .. or something you don't want EVERYONE to see.
Can you add hidden/private information somehow? .. or it only possible at the File level when you go to
publish
your tree.

There is a way to prevent some or all of a comment from being included in the
Narrative Report
. Well actually there are two ways.
Firstly you can include the `'Custom Markup' tag <?hide?> in your comment to hide any text following this tag. See
How to Customise your Report
and the .gno attached to the first post in that thread.
Alternatively you can set a value e.g. § in the Dictionary.xml tag 'Private' or in a 'Document' Custom Tag 'Private' in your .gno.
Then any text following this value (e.g. §) in your comments will not be included in the Report.
Be careful not to include the .gno in the
Report
! (see under 'Privacy' tab of
Generate Report
dialogue).

Oh that's awesome! Thank you!! I'll have to try both of those
options
out.
I always exclude uploading the .gno file. Thank you for the warning. :-)
