Around 2007, I spent many months creating my family's genealogy using GenoPro. It became much more than a family tree: each person had photographs, personal notes, important life events, medical history, and many details that had been carefully collected from conversations with my relatives over many years.
Unfortunately, after all this time I no longer have access to my account. I don't remember my username, password, or even the email address I used back then. Over the years, computers were replaced, hard drives failed, and I believed everything had been lost forever.
The only thing I managed to keep is a printed copy of the family tree. The structure of the tree is there, but all the information stored inside each person's profile—the photos, notes, medical information, and family stories—is missing.
I have recently decided to rebuild my family tree, but it has become especially emotional because, since I created it, my father and my grandmother have both passed away. I would have loved to preserve their memories exactly as I had recorded them years ago, and it is heartbreaking to think that all of that information may be gone.
I know this is a very long shot, but I am wondering whether there is any possibility that GenoPro still has archives, backups, or any way to help recover my old project.
Although I cannot log into the original account, I can provide a great deal of information to prove that the tree is mine, including:
- My full name.
- Names, dates, and relationships of many family members.
- A scanned copy of the printed family tree created with GenoPro.
- Any other information that could help verify ownership.
If anyone from the GenoPro team or the community has any suggestions, advice, or knows whether recovery is even remotely possible, I would be incredibly grateful.
