Is it possible to number each individual and then index them in a print out in alphabetical order. for the purpose of making a book of the family.

You can change the permanent ID of the individual to whatever you want, as long as all individuals have unique IDs. The permanent ID is found in the "Report" dialog of the individual's properties.

GenoProSupport (9/19/2005) You can change the permanent ID of the individual to whatever you want, as long as all individuals have unique IDs. The permanent ID is found in the "Report" dialog of the individual's properties. A disadvantage of changing the ID (at present) is that this is the only way at the moment of listing all individuals from a particular GenoMap - although I would be delighted to be corrected here. The only method I have found at present is to select 'ind*' for the IDs in a search. Using a plain * does not find anything
