I have just changed the path for the photos to my web site folder and noticed that when I generate a report, all photos with spaces between the parts of the name don't show up as the generator removes these spaces in the pages.Blink

Is there a way I can correct this without having to rename all the photos with "_" in these spaces? (I have over 400 photos to change otherwise!)Crazy

I need to add the option to keep the original filename.  Spaces and accents will be a problem when publishing a report on the web.

I don't think you need to rename the pictures. I think I can find a solution.  Please explain me your situation... that is, where are the pictures from, what type of report you are generating and some other information about it.  If you already have the pictures linked to a folder, GenoPro can re-use those pictures.

The pictures were all in C:/Pictures/ ,

and the photos were copied to a folder by the report generator removing all the spaces, but as the paths in the pages showed these shortened names, all the photos showed up.

Original name = "Adams Fly Proprietor Belvedere 1896.jpg"
Report name = "AdamsFlyProprietorBelvedere1896.jpg"

But then I changed the path for the report generator to

<Parameters _PathPictures="http://www.beath.net/tree/pictures/"

and now that I have uploaded all the photos, those with spaces don't show up as the paths in the pages still point to shortened names without spaces!

I hope this is clearer.

I do this to save space as many of the same photos are found in several different trees and are copied each time meaning that I can end up with up to 10 copies of the same photo in different trees on my site.

That was the goal of having a dedicated path for the pictures.  I am working on a solution regarding the spaces in the pictures...  I think I will have something within the next few days...

Thanks Dan, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Apart from this problem, the reports are really fabulous now, though there are bound to be some details that others use that they will want changing!

I am still working for a solution for GenoPro.  I am sure you are not alone having this issue.  One thing I have been thinking is a button (tool) to automatically remove the spaces in the filenames of the pictures.

Files with spaces and accents are a real problem on the web.
