Currently it seems that one can only select one or all GenoMaps in a GenoGram. A sub-selection is not possible. E.g., if I have a GenoGram called ABC.gno containing 26 GenoMaps called "A", "B" .. "Z" then it is rather difficult to only select, let's say, GenoMaps "N" and "S". I recently had to provide a single GedCom file with the contents of two - hyperlink dependent - GenoMaps, and it was not easy to do.Awaiting the possibilty to select more than one GenoMap, I found two ways to do this. (1) The GenoGram copy > Make a copy of the ABC.gno database, preferably under a different name. > Delete all GenoMaps that are not needed/wanted in the report. This is a rather lengthy process where you have to process each GenoMap individually by making a right-click select, choosing delete and confirming its deletion for each of the GenoMaps that must be removed. Note that a table-view on the GenoMaps, allowing multiple selection and delete would also be welcome as a quick solution. (2) The GenoMap copy > Create a new, empty GenoGram database. > Select the contents of the GenoMaps you wish to copy. > Copy the contents and paste it into the empty GenoMaps in the new GenoGram. > Re-establish the hyperlinks else you will introduce duplicates. With both methods you end up with a sub-set that you can process as a whole with the Report Generator. Of course, any modification to the base version will have to be replicated to the sub-set or a new sub-set will have to be created. Making it possible to select two or more GenoMaps for a single report would make life easier. Thanks, Nand

I can only agree with Nand.
I had a similar occasion recently when I had to extract an extended family from my complete family tree. This took a long time using Nand's second method (I now realise that his first method could well have been faster). It made me wish that I had maintained my tree on a single GenoMap, when deleting unwanted individuals would have been much simpler
To extend this further, any method of 'merging' two GenoMaps to automatically delete redundant hyperlinks would be most welcome.

There is probably a way by exporting the required GenoMaps to GedCom files, merging them and re-importing them into a new GenoGram. I'll have a look at it but can't promise anything.Stay tuned.

This is just to let you know that I'm pretty close to a working solution. The only problem right now is that upon importing the resulting GEDCOM file, GenoPro ignores the GENOMAP directives and puts all elements in the same GenoMap. Hence, for a single GenoMap it works but it breaks as from 2 or more. The IMPORT problem has been signaled in the Bug Report forum.

I have written a tool to do just this: select and extract one or more GenoMaps from a GenoGram (actually from the GEDCOM file of the GenoGram). Please see the corresponding post in the third party tools forum: http://www.support.genopro.com/FindPost24452.aspx
