Is there a way to get GenoPro to work with MS Access?

I've been debating putting all of my university's football contacts into Genopro, but there are certain downsides .. the primary one being that I'm the only one that uses/owns it.  Also my report writing skills aren't that great in Genopro, but I can kludge something together in Access that will show everyone that lives in province/state X or played during years A through D.

It would be nice to have the university keep the database up to date, and then link it with GenoPro somehow .. or visa versa.

Anyone have experience with this?

I did a quick search on here but couldn't find any relevant topics.

It shoukld be relatively straight forward to write a GenoPro skin to export Contact data as a .csv file that can be loaded into Access table. My Access knowledge is a little rusty so I don't know how easy it would be to merge this table into your existing data.  It should also be feasible to use something like ADODB in the skin to update the Access database directly.

Going the other way is much more complicated.  Sadly GenoPro never implemented the promised 'macro' facility that may have been of use here.  So all you can do is write a skin that merges GenoPro data with Access and creates a new GenoPro .xml file.  My XML toolkit uses a similar approach to modify GenoPro data files.

Thank you for the reply.  I'm not sure if I could write the code that could do that.

I had asked a similar question a few years ago for another organization I was involved with.  Here is the thread:

After creating a tree with everyone in it, I was able to spit out a .csv file, and then was able to kludge it to get a spreadsheet I could import into MSWord to print addresses directly on labels.  At the end, there were a total of ~80 envelopes that had to be printed, but the csv output was much larger, and took quite a while to turn it into usable output.  Once it was done, I would just edit the final MS Word output if there were any changes, since I had forgotten how to go through the entire process.

With the football club, their contact list is ~1,700 people.  I'd rather not go through the process on collecting data on everyone, plugging it into Genopro, making sure it's all correct, and then not being able to use and manipulate it easily.
