In my family tree there is the period of population explosion with many children (of the same name), new places a what helps me a lot in distinguishing the individuals is the place of Birth. Currently there is no option to display it together with the date of Birth so I use 'Second Last Name' field to enter this info as it is displayed, by default, in parentheses together with the individual name. Now I use this field instead of the correct one, but I know I'll have to fix this workaround in the future (clear this field and copy its content into the Birth place).

I'd be grateful for adding a new option to the display menu:
  1. Date of Birth
  2. Date of Death
  3. Symbol
  4. Name Surname
  5. (Place of Birth)
It would be even greater to allow the users to configure this format by themselves. Something like number/date formatting in the Excel sheet. Particular fields would have their abbreviations which could be used at any position (specified somewhere in the config).

Thanks, Jan

describes use of xml toolkit which should give you what you want. Main limitation is the need to re-run when new data added.
