First, congratulations on the 15B, especially on the new SVG find function. I can imagine it was not an easy addition. Great!1. In the new version the name comes immediately under the gender symbol. This makes the distinction between l and i, n and h etc impossible. Would it be possible to add a blank line between them? This is in IE. 2. Wanted to check the above in Mozilla (I didn't try Mozilla with a previous version). I get the following message [Java script application] You need a SVG viewer to display the family tree.... However, SVG viewer is installed and works with IE. Need to do something to introduce it to Mozilla?

Just a quick note before I'm out for the day. The Adobe viewer is no longer needed with Mozilla Firefox because from Firefox version 1.5 it has its own SVG engine which renders the SVG genograms sucessfully.Firefox will recognise the Adobe SVG viewer but you will need to copy some .dll files (click the help/info button above the SVG frame in the report). But if you use Adobe with Firefox the SVG/HTML interaction will not work. This only works with IE & Adobe SVG viewer or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or above.

Thanks. SVG with Firefox 1.5 works OK. The same problem of "overlapping" gender symbol and name exists here too.

Wow!  You've made my wall charts obsolete with this new svg system and the great scroll, pan and zoom controls.  I had made these simple wallcharts because the genograms weren't easily visible before Ron made his first version and even then the controls were difficult for novices. Now, with his new version, I don't need to use my wallcharts any more!  and having just finished updating all my trees I must start all over again once I have customised the new skins!

This is in IE.I have just discovered that this problem is related to the font selected in GenoPro. I personally use (on WXP) 'Arial Unicode MS'. This does not exhibit the problem of text touching the gender symbol. However if I switch the GenoPro font to 'Arial' then the problem occurs. It is more noticeable when the 'size' of the object in GenoPro is set to tiny, large or extra large. It also does not occur for example if font 'tahoma' is selected. Unfortunately at present I do not understand the reason for this but will continue to investigate in order to provide a solution. As a work-around for the present, try changing the GenoPro font (see File, Properties menu window, under the 'font' tab).

Maybe centering the text vertically for each line, this will have the effect of averaging any pixel quantization problem.

Thanks. I changed to Tahoma and it works. I do not have Arial Unicode on my XP system. For example, 'new courier' also presents the same problem. Will be interesting to see whether centering the vertical alignment will help..

Maybe GenoPro could use a different default font. When a new genealogy document is created, the Arial font is being used. Of course, the user can change the font, but it is always good to pick a good default font.
