When clicking the pictures, they will be displayed enlarged in a new popup window. Would it be possible to uitilize the same function as with SVG grafiks for enlargement, utilizing the frame "map", much like the genomap0.svg instead of a popup window?

Thanks for the revised genomap.svg, it is working just fine.
Have three more things to ask.

1) In my genomaps (jap.) have set the display to 4 lines, this will display YoB and YoD above eachother, in the SVG graphics it is still the normal way (same level). Can this be redone in one of the future Beta versions.

2) The end of an arrow remains black in the SVG graphic, even if the line of the arrow is colored

3) Have created a stripped down version of a report (no individual and family pages) but using the same layout, so I want to load and copy only those pictures, which are actually used in the SVG graphics. What has to be changed?

The same problem of "overlapping" gender symbol and name exists here too.

The overlapping gender symbol of the next (first) character is happening also with japanese characters. This can not be solved with another font selection. The charcater is hidden by app. 2/3 of its height.

I have reworked part of the code in 'genomap.svg' to hopefully remove problems of overlapping and misaligned text, including vertical text. This version seems to work with most fonts. The revised code is attached as 'genomap.txt' as this forum does not allow .svg attachments. After downloading rename it to 'genomap.svg' and replace the version in your skin. It can be applied to Beta 15c. Let me know if it is still a problem.

Switching off the "Higher Quality" does not solve the problem with japanese display. It produces unreadable Ascii characters. Besides all characters are not aligned to the center in the SVG display, but all of them are aligned to the left.

This seems a like a problem we have seen before here with the Adobe SVG Viewer. If you right click on the report , deselect 'Higher Quality' option and then select it again, does the missing graphic object reappear? i.e the marriage line or white background to the name.

Sorry for the delay in replying - I was away for a long weekend.

Your suggestion has solved the problem.Smile Just changing the 'Higher Quality' option removes all the defects - missing links, links overlapping characters, vanishing links.

Is Adobe likely to correct this problem with the viewer before they release a final version?

In the past, I have seen the horizontal disappear completely when printing.  Somehow the print driver would optimize the printing by ignoring any line having its start point and end point outside the print area, neglecting the fact the line may run thru the printing area.  Is is possible the SVG rendering is buggy.

As for transparency, it may be a similar issue.  When drawing text, it is possible the SVG viewer not reset the opacity/transparency attribute, and as a result the next element is rendered with the previous trasparency settings.  When I added the Legend Symbols, I ran into this problem where some genogram symbols were not transparent.  I discovered the bug was in the drawing code of the previous object not restoring properly the transparency attribute, and therefore affecting the drawing of the next object.  This is a technical issue, however it is possible the SVG viewer has similar issues.

The image I sent was a screenshot from browser's SVG window (sorry I didn't mention it earlier).

Ron did a good job.  I was sure it was a screenshot from GenoPro.

I am occasionally having the same problem, but it is not consistent. It happens in different places within the same report if it is opened at different times. Also I find the odd marriage link is missing in the SVG. I have one marriage link which stretches for about a half of the GenoMap, but when I scroll along the line it will suddenly disappear (i.e. it doesn't just stop - it vanishes); when I scroll back it appears again.

If you right click on the report , deselect 'Higher Quality' option and then select it again, does the missing graphic object reappear? i.e the marriage line or white background to the name. Does it occur when using Firefox 1.5? If not it's likely to be a problem with the Adobe SVG viewer. I only tend to see bits missing on more complex genograms and the above work-around sorts it.

I made sure there are no "Transparent text" dialog boxes checked but still the same result: some (random?) names are transparent in SVG. What's wrong, can this be corrected?

There are over 600 individuals in this particular GenoMap, and this may have some bearing on what is happening. I will try to split it into smaller GenoMaps.

Thanks for your replies!

This is a new feature of GenoPro Beta15b to not erase the background before drawing the text. It is used to create legends.

Nice to know. However, this was not the problem. In Genopro all names display all right (with erased background) but in SVG this problem occurs. The image I sent was a screenshot from browser's SVG window (sorry I didn't mention it earlier).
