I find that it is most often possible to find a place to double click the "tooltipped" cells, but it can be rather tricky, possibly due to the operative system. The trick, on my pc, is, if it seems impossible, to first enlarge the column, then see if the "tooltip" is shorter than the cell at the extreme right. If not, it still sometimes work if one fiddles around a LOT...

I need to click around quite a lot before I succeed...

Do you really not have this problem at all? Odd... Hopefully it's just the OS, then...
