I recently had a new computer installed at work and then had Genopro 2.5.4.1 reinstalled.  The computer is an IBM Lenovo, with Windows 7, and MS Office 2010.  We send documents to a web based Xerox photocopier/printer.

Prior to the new computer and install,  margin were seen in print preview and my margins printed out along with the file path, print date, and the file name in the left hand bottom corner.  This was using XP Pro, and MS Office 2003.  The xerox photocopier/printer has not changed.

I cannot get the margins, nor the path command to print at all now.    All I really want is the path and file name printed on the document.

Interestingly, after I rebooted the computer and the Genopro program once, I openned a previous file to preview it and very quickly I was able to see the margins, and then it blinked and showed me the print preview without the margins.

I have tried everything I can to fix this problem in Printer Setup, Page Layout, etc. and explored the forums with nothing working.

Any helpful ideas?

See http://www.genopro.com/help/print/ but what is described there as File/Page Setup should in fact be File/Page Layout

Thanks "Grand Master"

I already looked at that page ... a couple of times :-)

I have Genopro installed at home and at my privatr practice as well, and have no problem getting it to print the margins and file path as noted above.  The only difference is Windows 7 Enterprise and work.  The printers in the three different places are different, BUT it works fine at home at at my private practice with XP Pro

Sorry I obviously overlooked the penultimate paragraph of you first post.

My approach would be to look to see if there is an updated Windows 7 printer driver for your Xerox printer.

As a work-around you could install a PDF printer driver such as PrimoPDF and print to a file using that psudo printer and then print the PDF file to the Xerox printer via a PDF reader (e.g. Foxit PDF reader).  A bit long-winded I know.

Hi Grand Master,

After a lot of testing, I may have found the problem, and I believe it might be Version 2.5.4.1  Our IT here have tried many different things (Xerox Print Driver, system files, etc.) to try and find the problem at our end.  No luck.

Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to our IT.  I will let you know when we have more information.

Hi Dave,

Here is some new information for you.

PRIVATE PRACTICE SYSTEM:

I checked Genopro on our system at my private practice on Saturday.  We have Windows 7 Professional installed on the main server/computer, and Windows XP Pro on the others.  MS Office 2010 is installed on the Windows 7 and Windows 2007 on the XP Pro system.

On the Windows 7 system, in print preview, your cannot see the footer that will be printed, BUT it does print it fine. HOWEVER, this is with  Version 2.5.3.9!  I upgraded to 2.5.4.1 and it didn't work!

On the XP Pro system, it shows the footer in print preview and it prints fine.  Version 2.5.3.9

HOME SYSTEM:

At home on my system, XP Pro, and with MS Office 2010 I did some testing.  With the new version 2.5.4.1 it will not print the footer.  I changed back to an older version 2.5.3.9 I have and it worked fine at home.

So ...  it appears to be a version bug but I don't know for sure.  I will let Genopro know.

Maybe you could try an earlier version to see if that fixes the problem on your machine?  You go to

http://support.genopro.com/

Click on Site Map in the top green bar

Go to "Get Genopro" and click on Release history.

We could also try downgrading to version 2.5.3.9 on my system !!!
