Thank you for your comments with using the outline box. I will give this a try.
One point with using the outline box, can you stitch the
family
groups together. I suppose it must be possible by pasting them onto a new tab and moving these together.
Once I sorted out the aspect ratio and the
page
breaks scenario I could print a readable
tree
but this was one branch of my family.
I thought I would see how Genopro could
help
me print my whole tree. This contains my
wife
's,
siblings
, parents, their siblings and the same for me but back 5 or 6 generations. This was around 780 people.
I had the same problem when
importing a gedcom file
that the branches folded on themselves. Perhaps this is because the Aspect Ratio or page size is not set large enough to import the gedcom file. I had to change the colour of some of the branches (horizontal) to help me see which
person
was linked to what family. When I forgot, I had my Roots Magic file to help me out.
I
started
with my family and moved them down the page and then I moved both my parents families away to the left and I moved my wife's parents families way off to the right so I have sufficient work space to move the other family lines. I then moved the families and siblings etc to the correct
place
in the tree.
I had to carry out some moving of the families so they did not scroll into each other but I was very impressed, my tree is taking shape. I am not sure over how many pages the tree will take to print but I have family groups so I can see their children, their spouses and their children. There is still editing to be carried out but I have tried for many
years
to
find
a software that could allow me to print my complete tree.
At the moment the Genopro software can be a way of achieving my aims.
