To Howard53: I did what you said but I think the best solution is the one given by Ron. I then noticed narrative bugs with your solution (proposed correction in red):
After clicking on the family link, I got that one:
Thanks anyway. To Ron: Your solution is, I think, the best. I, however, noticed a similar uncomplete narrative for one of my couples with, in my case, a wife without a forename nor a surname. Thanks Ron.

jcguasp (3/22/2006) or Genepro to explain what is the best way to deal with unknown surnames. I'll be glad to modify my tree accordingly. Thanks. In my opinion it is best to leave unknown names as blank the Report Generator deals specifically with this case. The Dictionary contains an entry _NoName that provides a reporting substitute that by default it is set to <Unknown>. If you use ??? or unknown etc. these will not be treated as special cases by the Report Generator.

jcguasp (3/22/2006) I suggest Genopro to implement a check/ignore routine for these unknown names (to not appear in the metanames list) bearing in mind that some other users may use a different approach for naming their unknown persons.Have you tried the option 'Make Label / Exclude from Report' under the Privacy tab in the individual's properties. This should exclude the individual from the report but leave them in the SVG.

This is not a bug but a suggestion:For unknow individuals surname (not forename), I so far, entered "???" as surname. I've got a small tree but already 6 persons are named ???. The funny thing is that "???" family is within the list of the .htm files generated metanames. I suggest Genopro to implement a check/ignore routine for these unknown names (to not appear in the metanames list) bearing in mind that some other users may use a different approach for naming their unknown persons. or Genepro to explain what is the best way to deal with unknown surnames. I'll be glad to modify my tree accordingly. Thanks.
