Firstly let me state I am not a computer whiz.
I have been using Genopro for about 3 years, I have managed to follow instructions and (keeping to basics) have developed my tree with info. and pictures of almost a thousand indiv. with 282 families.
Several of my friends have tried to persuade me to change to more well known 'family tree makers' but I have resisted because I like the tree layout of Genopro (vertical rather than horizontal) and also the ease of finding individuals etc. However I am now at the stage were I want to offer friends and relatives information which in the HTML format is brilliant but I cannot produce RTF reports to mail to friends. I did once produce a report in RTF and it was excellent but have not been able to do so since. I did ask for help on this and was told;
1. You need to select a single indiv. or family. ---- No Problem.
2.The report template (skin) must have a corresponding RTF template. --- I do not understand what this means. The only skins offered are Language (1) All, and (3) English. and Skin Names (1) All Comments, (2) English Narrative Report and (3) Save Genomaps to disc.
3. Move the mouse over the greyed checkbox to find out why this option is disabled. ---- there are no greyed checkboxes.
I looked at these suggestions without success so am now looking for more help on this matter. If there is someone who is regularly creating these RTF reports and who has the time and patience to assist a novice I would appreciate this very much.
Very Kind Regards,
Melm
We are also looking at other possibilities, such as generating PDF documents and/or generating XML-based RTF documents supported by OpenOffice and Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office 12 uses the XML for its documents.
