GenoProSupport (5/19/2006)
By using applying the privacy filter to remove all dates of births, is is currently impossible for GenoPro to determine which child is older than the others. As a result, the the child rank is arbitrary. I find that as long as I have specified the child order via the 'Change Child Order...' Tab on the 'Report' Tab of either the Family Properties or the Individual Properties of the parents, then the report generates the children in the correct order regardless of whether the birth dates are unknown or the 'Remove all dates of birth' is checked. Perhaps I have just been lucky...

The problem is actually deeper than this. By using applying the privacy filter to remove all dates of births, is is currently impossible for GenoPro to determine which child is older than the others. As a result, the the child rank is arbitrary. As a temporary solution, keep the year and month of birth. This will allow GenoPro to be able to determine which the child rank while keeping the date of birth private. The ultimate solution to this problem is remembering the child rank before applying the privacy filter. If after applying the privacy filter, the child rank has changed, then GenoPro will use a secondary mechanism to explicitly store the child rank.

Problems have previously been reported with the Report Generator and adopted children. If you change the adopted child to a biological child, then the generated report (HTML page) is correct. This is unlikely to be corrected until the Report Generator is revamped after v2.0.

I have a family with 3 living children: Child#1 - Biological male child, Child#2 - Adopted male child, Child#3 - Biological female child. When creating the html report with privacy option "Remove All Living Individuals" with sub options "Keep Names" and "Remove all date of births" I get a conflict with the oldest child text. HTML page for Child#1 correctly indicates he is the eldest of three children. HTML page for Child#2 also indicates he is the eldest of three children. Text for Child#3 is correct. I have attached a sample genopro file to enable you to replicate the problem.
