I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it seams I just cant do it!

I created a copy of "English Narrative Report", and went through all files and replaced all  " i.Name.Last" with " i.Name.LastOrLast2" and all " iNameLast" with " iNameLastOrLast2" but it seams I didn't do something important as I'm not getting any result!?

Can you type a simple step by step for "us" ignorant!

Use the tag i.Name.LastOrLast2 instead of i.Name.Last.

The tag i.Name.LastOrLast2 returns the last name, however if the last name is empty, it returns the second last name.  This was was designed to save code when generating reports.

For a complete list of available tags, use the Tag Definitions dialog from the Tools menu.

Hy, The problem mentioned in first post occurs also if there is no Last Name, but second Last name is present...

I use strict rule that born last name is the Last Name of Person, and Second Last Name is the Last Name of Married individuals or of ones that changed it due to some circumstances. So I have a more than few individuals that are listed as unknown... Could there be a string added to list those individuals with their Second Last Name?

it should be something like IF INTLastName=0 AND INTSecondLastName=1 THEN $LastName=$SecondLastName

I think Genopro should implement something similar to an "Ltrim()" function (and also perhaps an "Rtrim() or an "Alltrim()") in order to remove these inadvertent space(s) prior to process the field.

I agree.  There should be an option in the preferences to trim names within the application itself. This option should be enabled by default.

Replying to myself:

I found the problem: what was actually entered in the First Name field was: space + Lassemblée.

I removed the space and now Lassemblée is properly listed in the main index name list and no more within the Unknown list.

I think Genopro should implement something similar to an "Ltrim()" function (and also perhaps an "Rtrim() or an "Alltrim()") in order to remove these inadvertent space(s) prior to process the field.

Thanks
