This is my first post so hi to you all. I have lurked around for some time now and I request your help.

I have got a tree which is an amalgam of inputs from many people and, in particular, I have Last Names in both upper and lower case letters. I therefore raised the Table Layout and put my cursor in the first row of the Last Name column. A right click gets me the menu then I chose Copy Column.  Next I opened up a blank worksheet in Excel and did a paste to the first column. There was my Last Names - no problem. Using the Excel 'proper' function I converted all the last names to the format I wanted. So far so good. I then highlighted all 4227 entries and did a 'control c' to copy the new names. Back to the Genopro table, I again placed the cursor on the first row in the last name column and did a right click to bring up the menu and I then chose Paste. The data changed before my eyes but when it was complete it reverted back to the old format.

Clearly I have done something wrong but what?

I think genopro is the best thing since sliced bread as they say here in the UK

Regards

Tony
