I know that I have to create a gedcom file but not sure what to check or uncheck. Then how do I actually send it to another person?

A gedcom is a text based file that other genealogy programs can read. You can send it as an attachment in an email.
There have been reports that it is preferable to use Ron's utility, gnoxml2ged.vbs, to create the gedcom as GenoPro export is designed for import back into GenoPro and has caused some problems.

If you have got the utility then click on the icon of the .vbs file. (I have created a shortcut for this). A window will open (In an IE page, but that does not matter). It asks for a file name and provides a Browse button so you can navigate to your GenoPro folder. Choose the .xml version of the file you want.

The next menu has a list of options. To start you can probably accept the default except for the last one (8 on my version) where you select the GenoMaps to convert. Again you will probably want to select the first option 'all' but you can select individual GenoMaps or a list by adding using Ctrl with the mouse selection. You end up with a .ged file in the same directory, using the same file name.

Hope that is all

You could help by giving the exact URL of the link you are referring to. I do not understand what you mean by 'the link to get the 'Tree Skin''. However my GenoPro XML file to Gedcom conversion script can be found here http://www.priors.net/genealogy/scripts/gnoxml2ged.vbs
