I appear to have lost, or forgotten, the ability to display dates in a custom format ie. 14 Oct 2006. Instead I just get the standard 14/10/06. I have searched the forum for hints but have not found anything. I thought we had this facility back at beta 17 or so.

Right click on a date and pick English.  By default, GenoPro uses the date format from the Control Panel which is typically numbers only.

The other alternative is to specify dd-MMM-yy as the short date format.
