Thanks for all your suggestions. I've tried them all (other than updating printer driver, as my printer is pretty new) and still no luck. I initially downloaded the free earlier Genopro and there were no problems in printing the margin lines there. It is only with the Beta version which I have now bought..  Very, very frustrating.

I am using GenoPro Beta Version 2.b19f.

I really would appreciate your help, because I am stumped and without the margin lines coming out on the printed page the fitting together of all the pages is so difficult

My genopro version that I have just downloaded looks like version2.b20b.

The margin lines are there on the printed page but are so faint that I can barely see them - I have to have the page under a very bright light and make sure my glasses are on - is this how it is supposed to be? because if so it is still very unsatisfactory. I hope you can help.

margin lines are there

We are all limited by the size of a printed page , usually A4 or Foolscap.

If you are trying to print a large family onto a small page, you will always have a very small type font, and Family lines to match.

Genopro allows you to separate large Families into smaller groups. This allows me to print out my tree on 750 genomaps that are all clear to read. It may not be what you want to achieve, but it is more convenient than to use large printing formats generated by commercial operators, or squinting to read small print on standard pages.

Ta but i'm not sure what you are suggesting 'poolzone'.

However, now my problems with margin lines being printed have paled into insignificance!!!!

I downloaded a later version of genopro (2.b20b) as suggested by Geno pro It Director and now I can't even open any of the hundreds of hours of work I have done on the older version in the new version. I did what I was asked to do i.e. re-downloaded v2.b19f again, opened and saved all the backup files (about 15 of them) quit the program and then tried to reopen them using 2.b20b. Then i found that the later version had disappeared so i had to download it again. Then tried to open the saved files and got the same message as before i.e. go back to v2b19f , save etc etc What do I have to do now???????????????

I  also found it frustrating that one of the messages i got was that because I used an evaluation version it was no longer being supported - and yet did the right thing and I paid money for this version!

How high is my blood pressure now!

Sorry folks. Just ignore most of the above, because I now find I can open my files in the new version2.b20b. For a while my computer was saying that I only had the version 19 on it, now it is saying that 20b is the one installed and I can open in  it.

SO, I still have the problem that the margin lines are so faint you can hardly see them - if you weren't looking for them you would say there was nothing there!

You are right.  I printed those crop marks on a laser printer and was unable to see them.  I fixed the problem by making the color darker.  Beta20c will be available in a few hours.  You will have the opportunity to try it and give feedback.
