Wow! This application is really powerful. The only thing missing is a complete user manual! Thank you all! Chantal

The configurable parameter details in Config.xml for the 'Export to Gedcom' report are reproduced below. But instead of creating a Customized skin, you can also set any of the parameters using GenoPro Document Custom Tags. Click the Menu Bar item Tools/Tag Editor then click the Document Tab, then create a newlayout 'Export to Gedcom'. For a minimum detail Gedcom create Custom Tags IncludePictureLinks, IncludeSources & IncludeNotes under this layout and set all three tags to N by using the Menu Bar item File/Properties... to display the Select Properties dialogue and then click 'Export to Gedcom' tab. Custom Tag settings will override the Config.xml settings

| <!-- Parameter Settings:- 'IsLabelAction', 'LivingAction' & 'YoungsterAction' These parameters indicate what action is to be taken for individuals that are respectively:- i) marked as 'Exclude From Report' or IsLabel, ii) are still alive. iii) are still alive and born on or after the year specified in 'YoungsterBirthYear'. The action can either 'include', 'disguise' or 'ignore'. 'AliasIfDisguised' & 'BirthYearIfDisguised' These parameters qualify the 'disguise' action of the 3 parameters described above, giving the name to be used for disguised individuals and whether or not the birth year is to be output. If 'AliasIfDisguised' includes a # character then then it is replaced by the individuals id in the Gedcom NAME tag. 'UseIdsForUnknowns' sets the name of unknown individuals to the id value, thus providing visual identifier. 'IncludeHyperlinks' causes output a separate Gedcom INDI record for each internal hyperlink of an individual. 'IncludeGenoProTags' Is provided purely to help check or validate the output Gedcom data and should normally be set to 'N'. If set to 'Y' it will allow the output .ged file to be opened by GenoPro retaining the same graphical layout and Genomap mapping. Note that this produces file that does not adhere to the Gedcom 5.5 Standard and will cause errors to be reported when imported into other programs. The 'PrefixGeoProTags' parameter can be used to add a prefix of _GNO_ to these tags, thus bringing the file more inline with the standard, which requires custom Gedcom tags to be prefixed with an underscore character. The file can then be imported into other systems if required and some packages may retain such custom tags. Any _GNO_ prefixes will need to be deleted before the file can be opened by GenoPro. Other parameters are self-explanatory. --> <Parameters _PathPictures="\\" IsLabelAction="ignore" LivingAction="include" YoungsterBirthYear="" YoungsterAction="include" AliasIfDisguised="Not Disclosed" BirthYearIfDisguised="N" IncludeNonBologicalChildren="Y" IncludePictureLinks="Y" IncludeSources="Y" IncludeUnreferencedSources="N" IncludeNotes="Y" NotesMaxLineLength="240" NotesWordWrap="Y" RenumberIds="N" UseIdsForUnknowns="N" IncludeGenoProTags="N" PrefixGenoProTags="N" />

The same way you can unpack the report generator, you can unpack the Gedom export generator by selecting "Export to Gedcom" and then "New Skin" underneath. It will copy the three files into a skin called "Customized Export to Gedcom". You can then edit the config.xml file and set certain parameters.

The difficulty here is that there were problems developing the Privacy filter and it has been reduced, for the present, to exclude Living people, with a few extensions.
The best way to produce a gedcom is through the report generator skin 'Export to Gedcom' In theory it would be possible to produce a customised version of this which would not write such personal information. Only problem here is that this skin does not exist when you unpack skins, so I do not see how you can modify it.
Maybe Ron has comments on this

Hi all,I would like to export a GEDCOM file with only basic data (names and dates). The file that I produce contains personal and confidential notes that I don't want to share. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks! Chantal
