I am researching 4 families, the families of my 4 grandparents.

I have each family as a seperate file.

can i upload more than one family and have seperate webpages under one account or do i need to find a way to get 4 accounts?

I'd like to have both my maternal families connected and same for paternal.

Leonne

You can post several trees at http://familytrees.genopro.com if you prefer to keep them separate.

However using GenoPro2007 you can have one file and separate the different lines onto different GenoMaps - which is how I have organised my family tree. It means that you do not have to remember to update different parts at the same time

Hello,

As a new user I might not be aware of all features.

However, I am looking for a table that summaries all my families research.

Please have a look at:

http://haggibar.tripod.com/

which links to every one of the separate trees in genopro:

http://familytrees.genopro.com/haggibar/Golomb/

Or the others that I've posted. Is there something similar that I can use here to replace that page ?

Thanks,

Haggai.

I have had a quick look at your site, and the idea of a front page getting in to separate families looks useful, particularly for people not used to this sort of program.

One disadvantage I have found is that the links between the families do not work - they point to files on your PC. So the solution here is to combine all the trees into one file. This will also solve the problem of looking at all of the data in a one separate table. You can copy a whole file using the Edit functions and paste them into a second GenoMap. You will then have to recreate the links. I assume at present they are external links, which will need converting to internal.

You might be able to keep your Tripod family tree start page. I have noticed (when I Googled a name in my own family) that a link to a person first of all loads the page for the individual and then immediately loads the Home page. However this will probably be the page for the total file, not directed to a particular family. Needs testing. However it will be much more useful having all of the data in one file.

Thanks for the answer.

I'll try to implement it.

I am still interested in having more than one family each in their separate file. How they are linked? For example now I have 2 files, one big for maternal and one small for paternal side. BUt in future I want to have more files similar as previous poster. I don't want to mix them, I want to see clearly from what side is every relative. Now I don't know how to link them and how it will work. I am trying to add external link and link those 2 files via my father. And I want us children to be visible in both files, maternal and paternal.

Or if they are in the same file, I want separate ABC indexes, separate places etc. for each branch.

Thanks

You can have separate files and use external hyperlinks to join them. One problem is that the link on your PC will need modifying if you publish onto the web. (I have tried that and decided it is not worth the problem that occurs when updating. There probably are ways to do this)

Most people find that using separate Genomaps gives the required separation but also allows linkages. In effect the separate display appears to be one file. If you do want to have a separate file you can always copy a display into a new file.

You mention that one of your files is getting large. You can split that into separate parts again.

Have a look at my reports on familytrees (http://support.genopro.com/UserInfo30922.aspx)
