I no longer seem to have the svg tree icon on my webpage - it seems to have disappeared without me noticing.  I do mean svg don't I?  The tree that everyone could see, whether they had GenoPro or not.  I apologise in advance because I am sure you have probably told us why it's not there.  Maybe during the switch to 2007 it was made possible for everyone to see GP trees so there was no need for it?

Looking at your tree I found svg graphics. You are not using GenoPro 2007, but do not think that is the problem - as I say could not see any problem

Hi Folks,

Thanks again for your help.

First, I AM using GenoPro 2007 Version 2.0, and have just now updated to 2.0.0.2.  Least that's what it says when I click About GenoPro on my tree.

Second, I know this sounds awfully stupid, but I can not see that other wee icon that used to sit beside the GP icon at the end of the first paragraph below the title.  That's what I am calling the svg tree.  The icon which allowed people who did not have GenoPro to see my tree.  I cannot see it on my site, and I cannot see it on anyone else's site.

Can not remember a Tree icon on the right hand side of the Home Page. Your site does have the Tree icon on the left hand side and using FireFox I am able to get the tree loaded. Also have the icon beside an individual's name

Let me try asking the same question in a different way.  Where is the icon which someone, not enlightened sufficiently to be in posession of GenoPro, can use to view my tree?  There used to be an icon that allowed such an unfortunate person to see an adobe version (I think) of my tree but it seems to have vanished.  I keep sending my tree website to friends and they say they cannot view the most important part by far, the tree, because they do not have genopro.  I love genopro.  It is by far the best genealogy programme and is ridiculously cheap to buy.  But unfortunately not all my friends wish to buy any genealogy programme.  It used to be possible for them to see my tree when I sent the website.  They clicked an icon that was very close to the GP icon at the end of the first paragraph.  That icon seems to have gone.  Can my friends no loger see my tree?

Viewing a .GNO (genealogy file) is analogous as viewing a .PDF.  To view a .PDF, you must have Acrobat Reader installed.  This is a technical requirement because Windows does not know how to render .PDFs nor .GNOs.

GenoPro can always display, print and generate reports without requiring a registration key.  Anyone can download GenoPro for free and use it to view/print family trees or generate report at no cost.

Hey.

I understand what your saying.  You don't see the small tree icon to the right of the names when the name appears in a window on the right side of the screen.

Fear not.  I clicked on the website and found the icon in its right place, and working just fine.

May I suggest adding your email to the introductory remarks on your site?  How else can someone, like me, write to you to tell you how fine a job you've done?!

Lastly - I like that you used the source and citations button to display maps (although I'm not sure the uninitiated will know which button you are referring to when you say "sources and citations"...).  How did you arrange for the map or document to be connected there?

Thank you Uri.  I am trying to hide GenoPro's email as much as possible because I am receiving too many emails.  Since the launch of GenoPro 2007, I can barely keep with all the messages I am receiving.  The customer survey generated several thousand of comments, and it will take weeks for me to read and reply to most of them.

By the way, your comment written at the end of our customer survey is very nice, however it appears truncated.  I think my brother set the limit to 4096 characters per comment, and therefore I cannot read the end.  You are welcome to send me the rest of your comment by email.  We are currently building a section of "success story" of our customers.  Your comment would be a great success story.

Hi Uri,

You were almost right.  It WAS the little tree icon which I was looking for but it used to appear on the Home page above the introductory remarks, just beside the genoPro icon.  It disappeared and I did not realise that the tree which it generates (the one with the green arrows) could be accessed either by using the wee tree symbol beside a person's name when you select a person (as you ointed out), or indeed, much more simply by clicking the tree icon in the top left hand battery of icons.

Thank you for your kind remarks about my use of the Citations and Sources" button for adding maps (and word docs and excel docs as well).  This was made possible for me by the patient support I received from some of the regulars here.  You have probably found it yourself by now but if not, you can see how they guided me to these enhancements of my site under "Adding extra data to an HTML report" on the same forum as this one.  Clicking here might take you straight there:

http://support.genopro.com/Topic14624-87-1.aspx

Finally, it is possible to send emails to site owners via the wee yellow envelope beside the title of any site but it is a bit circuitous so I will take your advice and add my email address to my opening comments.

Regards,

Boyd
