How to add baby to single mother

Forum Newbie Customers Last Login: Monday, April 2, 2007 Posts: 5, Visits: 5	Hi, I know this is confusing, but I use this program to create matrilines for primate populations, where the father is almost never known... I have a female, and I am trying to add her first child... and it keeps popping up a box for the father. There isn't one, and the baby isn't adopted. Is there a way to get a mother/child link without having the father and without using adoption? I tried using the link setting "plain" but the line is a different color, and when you try to select a move "all direct descendants" individuals linked that way don't move. Please Help!
