on Ver 2.0.0.9

When you set  fGoogleMapsLink="N" on config.xml, and you try to go to a page of a "Place", the photo of the googlemap is shown Over the original "text" of that page page:

On ver 2.0.0.3, the same GNO file works fine.

Here is a screenshot of ver2.0.0.9

I can confirm it.

Also this option is not working in the configuration settings page, it must be changed directly from Config.xml.

I had noticed this too when investigating this bug. The two lines in Dictionary.xml

  <GoogleMapsLink T="Show place 'Google Map' in 'popup' frame via a hyperlink?" O1="Y:yes" O2="N:no" />
  <GoogleMapsOverview T="Provide 'Google Maps' link on Home page to map with all geocoded places?" O1="Y:yes" O2="N:no" />
should be
  <fGoogleMapsLink T="Show place 'Google Map' in 'popup' frame via a hyperlink?" O1="Y:yes" O2="N:no" />
  <fGoogleMapsOverview T="Provide 'Google Maps' link on Home page to map with all geocoded places?" O1="Y:yes" O2="N:no" />

I am still trying to track down the cause of the original bug reported by beraha. I have been able to reprodce it.  It would appear that the place frame starts to display correctly but then switches to the Google Map pop frame.

Not only that - another problem on Ver2.0.0.9, is that  googlemap displays the entire map of the world and not a zoom map of the exact place, like in ver 2.0.0.3, as you can see at the above screenshots

I think I have found the cause. It would appear that I omitted to update place.htm with a number of changes, one of which was the map type parameter. This was missing from the call to the checkGoogleMap function leading to the errors you reported. In addition the place description was incorrect when just latitude & longitude where present. I have attached revised versions of place.htm & Dictionary.xml that hopefully fix things.

I have read all new and old posts here about problems getting GenoPro trees to open in a Google search. I keep getting various error messages when I try to access my own trees, until Google locks up totally. I don't think I am clever enough to figure this out from the posts I've read, though I have certainly tried.  I am thrilled my trees are finally at least viewable on GenoPro. But would love to have them viewable in Google. Now I am just frustrated with myself.  I am using 2.0.0.4  Any suggestions that I might be able to follow?

Just had a look at your Blakeman tree and realized it has nothing to do with Google, but with the way you have arranged your tree. To solve this, edit your Blakeman tree, look for James Blakeman(b.1747), select him, his wife and all descendants(with wifes) and auto arrange this selection. It will bring all descendants closer together. Now they are far apart, which has problems with the SVG view.
