It was not my intention to say that you would try to hide the release date :-) Sorry if it read like that.

I never interpreted it that way.  Many customers wish to know when things will be available, however we have to make decisions that may push some features so far that it is nearly impossible to give a realistic estimate.  One major decision is to change the underlying framework of GenoPro, this alone will take from 6 months to a year.  The question is "when" to remove that framework.

I read that there would be the possibility to purchase the 2008 version in prior (as gamma) and participate in the test by using this version actively.

When we have something testable, we will announce it in our newsletter and make it available at our buy page https://www.genopro.com/buy/.   This offer will be a win-win deal for everyone, as users will get a great discount by pre-purchasing GenoPro 2008 as well as the benefit of using the new features right away, including the new collaboration module.  For us, we will have testers trying our new product and giving feedback and suggestions to further improve the quality.

Hello!

It was not my intention to say that you would try to hide the release date :-) Sorry if it read like that.

Just one more question: I read that there would be the possibility to purchase the 2008 version in prior (as gamma) and participate in the test by using this version actively. But I cannot find any page to order etc.
Is that onfo outdated?

Unfortunately the custom tags cannot be used for that because you cannot add more lines.

At the moment the custom tags do not support multiple lines of text.  We plan to add more options to the custom tags to support multiple lines as well as other formats such as dates, numbers, boolean (true/false), and enumerations.

I need the function e.g. for reports about certain happenings of the individual/family like as formattable text and with fotos.

The <?html?> is your only option at the moment.  GenoPro will offer a similar built-in option when we support names in multiple languages as well as the option for private comments. See post Excluding comments from a report for better privacy for more details.

We are not trying to hide any release date, however we whave too many features on our list to give any meaningful estimated date.  We are working on our collaboration module which will take significant development time.

I see. Well, then I won't add any of these reports - which is bad for the moment... but it makes no sense to include them as notices now and having to re-enter them in a new version which supports such kind of additional informations.

I guess there are normally no announced dates from GenoPro staff about upcoming versions with a list of the new features?

And thanks again for your time :-)

There are more fields and tabs for many more topics and subjects under consideration in the future, with many request from users such as you and me. Details and when those will appear in the software will only be known by GenoPro. In the meantime a lot of things we do are a work-around.

Hi!

Thanks for your fast reply.

Well, generally thats a workaround which is not too bad... but if that's the only possibility I'll have a real problem. There are a lot of additional reports/summaries for single individuals and families. To put them all under the notices they are simply way too many. And of course the reports have different subjects and should also have some kind of title and index.

So, no chance at the moment?

There is enough written about this in this forum. I will make it short:
1) Make your pages using an HTML editor.
2) Copy the code into the comment field of that particular individual/family
3) Type <_?html?_> in front of that code (remove the underlign _).
Create your report and open the general comment.

Hello everybody!

I searched for a solution in these forum but could not find anything.

Is there any possibility to add some additional information to an individual or family that appears at the main webpage of the individual/family as well?

Unfortunately the custom tags cannot be used for that because you cannot add more lines. I need the function e.g. for reports about certain happenings of the individual/family like "My last diary entry in WW2" as formattable text and with fotos.
The sources aren't a good solution for that, too.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Bernhard
