can i run genopro from usb "disk on key"?

Yes, of course, however we do not recommend it.  GenoPro automatically register the extension .gno, so all .gno files are associated with the file GenoPro.exe.  If the file GenoPro.exe is on a USB drive, then when the drive is removed, Windows will search for the icon of the .gno file on that drive which may slow down the computer.

All other settings, such as preferences and most recently-used files, are stored in the Windows Registry regardless where GenoPro was installed.

The easiest would be to install GenoPro in the USB drive.  By the way, GenoPro does not really require any installation.  You can just copy the file GenoPro.exe into your USB drive and all features of GenoPro will work.

I was not aware of U3 features.  After visiting www.u3.com, I have to conclude GenoPro is not U3-portable.  GenoPro uses the registry to remember the user preferences.  We will need to modify GenoPro, including removing the MFC framework to support this feature.  We have plans to remove the MFC framework, however we have more urgent features to add before spending months re-writing our own application framework.

"GenoPro uses the registry to remember the user preferences" ... and the registration key.
That is quite an issue, isn't it ?
