I have all my GenoPro data, including over 1500
pictures
, in one folder on one machine. I have used "
Online Backup
" for all four of my
family trees
. Now I have a new computer with Vista, and I would like to transfer without losing the completed family trees. What is the most efficient way to do this?:

If you can copy all of the folder to a similar one on your new PC then, assuming from what you say, that all the .gno files are in the same folder as the pictures, everything will be the same. Probably the easiest way is to write them all to a Cd or probably DvD. This will also give you an extra back-up. Other ways include putting them on the internet, either your ISP (use an
ftp client
) or one of the online backup services. In the UK I use /www.humyo.com/ who provide 30 Gb of free space; 25Mb is for imagery. They have their own
interface
to load/
download
Must admit I have never tried to get data off the online back-up. It does not look obvious. The ftp client is fine for adding files to your publications and the Online Backup
page
gets your .gno file but does not seem to get the imagery

I hope you are using the "online backup" facility (Menu..Online Backup)
Genopro has a very efficient system for storing backups and retrieval requires no FTP
installation
.
