Hi! 

a) Where do you keep street, zip code, city for individuals?  In Contact information tab / Comments perhaps? I haven't found a field for them. 

b) Where do you find field names?

a) On the Contact tab, right click on the 'Occupancy Place' field and 'Edit Place...'. The place is then ready for your input.
b) All field names are grouped under main menu: Tools -> Tag Definitions, on many Object tabs.

Hi

How is this "occupancy place" supposed to work.  Eg. if I've got two individuals who's addresses are:

Person 1: Teljentie 12, FI21100, Naantali, Finland

Person 2: Putkikatu 3, FI-21100, Naantali, Finland

Ie. their occupancy place (Naantali) is the same execpt the street address

The system does not allow duplicate occupancy places = Naantali, This means that I cannot give above mentioned addresses to these disctinct individuals?  What do you put in field "occupancy place"?  BR, Jarmo

Hi

What I do is create a hierarchy of places:

  1. Country: Finland
  2. City (or Province/State/Region): Naantali
  3. Residence (or Church, School, etc): Teljentie 12, FI21100

Then when you publish your results, all your various locations will appear in the appropriate directory.

  • When you go to a Location field, hit CTRL+N to create a new entry. 
  • Start at the top level (ie, country), and work your way down.  Say it's Finland, ... state that it's a country in Place Type, and type in Finland at the bottom under country.  Add the Longitude/Latitude as well, from wikipedia or someother place.
  • For the next level below, say province, type in the Province Name at the top, and select the appropriate place from the "Parent Name" (ie Finland).  You'll see the country and Long/Lat automatically appear at the bottom.
  • Continue on down your hierarchy until you are done.
  • When you generate your report .. if you click on the little blue globe in the lower right hand corner of the front page, you will see all your geocoded places with tags.

Hi!  Gould you please advise how to create a report  with Report Generator with following field names: Name, Street Address, Zip code, City.   This information is in my genomap and now I should use a massmail (not email) for everybody (just living people, of course).  I should get the output in *.CSV or MS Excel format (or capability to import into MS Excel).   Any advise appreciated!   Best Regards, Jarmo

If you open the table (Ctrl+T) this contains the data you need in a spreadsheet compatible format. Use Column Properties to restrict the data to what you need and possibly sort to limit the people in the list.
Then copy the table and paste into your spreadsheet

It is reasonably easy to create a Report to produce a .csv file of contact info. It requires a reasonable understanding of JScript/javascript (or you could use VBScript), knowledge of the GenoPro tag definitions (see GenoPro menu item: Tools/Tag Definitions) and linkage between GenoPro objects and a familiarity of the Genopro SDK.

e.g. Create file contacts.js containing

1. What should I do in order to get scandinavian alphabets (ä, ö, å ) working in this report output?  Now there is eg.

should be Tytti Tupuna Bräysy

Ari Pertti Tapani Forström

should be Ari Pertti Tapani Forström, etc.

2. I wonder why email -field is left empty although there is information for individuals?
