Nice car Robert, but what has this to do with genealogy ? He is a Troll. He sent me stupid emails and posted his resume (CV) on the forum. He also "applied" to our academic program with garbage content. Now he is probably trying to sell a car. Funny, this guy also claims on his profile as being the CEO of GenoPro. Since he never purchased GenoPro, I banned him and his account no longer allows him to write new posts. I am just leaving this post a bit longer so you can read it Iain.

I am just leaving this post a bit longer so you can read it Iain. Thanks for the answer, we do get some strange ones ! Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous people out there who "steal" other peoples' ancestors and change the birth and death places to the USA and post them as their own ancestors. This happened to me when I updated my tree at Ancestry last year and forgot to make it private for a month. After this I started getting lots of "hints" which turned out to be these false entries so I complained to Ancestry but nothing much happened as many are still in their "world tree" This sort of behavior discredits Genealogy

To Genopro: One way is to intelligently limit Users to access sensitive points, e.g. translations. When I read this:
in one of your Help page, I do not agree at all. In this case, somebody, without a proper Genopro account, should not be allowed to fiddle with Genopro Translation files. You open the door to everyone! Welcome Stranger, do as you're pleased! Your site is lacking of a serious security policy. Review the situation immediately! How come a complete stranger (not having a Genopro account) to the site can access details about Members? Think about it. Why not to limit the sensitive areas to Paid Customers ONLY? It's not a fullproof solution but still. Sorry, Poolzone, if this reply has nothing to do with your initial posting. Rather with this 'Genopro CEO' of a troll. Thank you, JC

All I could do was to make my tree at Ancestry "private" where only a list of names is available without their relatives. My trees which contain the "living" at GenoPro are all pass word protected. The whole point of my large tree is to help genuine researchers, but unfortunately a small number of people are less than honest.

The conversation got a bit off-topic, so I created a new discussion thread.jcguasp (10/21/2008) One way is to intelligently limit Users to access sensitive points, e.g. translations. In this case, somebody, without a proper Genopro account, should not be allowed to fiddle with Genopro Translation files. So far, we have hot had any vandalism regarding translation. We have a mechanism to fully rollback any translation made by someone who posted garbage. We can notice garbage text, even in a foreign language. By the way, GenoPro usually give a free registration key to people contributing to the translation of GenoPro, so limiting the translation only to paid members would restrict the translation. How come a complete stranger (not having a Genopro account) to the site can access details about Members? I am not sure to understand this issue. Member details are still private. Why not to limit the sensitive areas to Paid Customers ONLY? It's not a fullproof solution but still. If spam becomes a problem, certains services will be accessible to paid customers only. if this reply has nothing to do with your initial posting. Rather with this 'Genopro CEO' of a troll. I would not worry about it. The troll put 'GenoPro CEO' as his occupation. I was curious, so I searched his email on the web using Google. I discovered the troll is also the CEO of about a dozen more website.
