Can you confirm that the software can be installed on Windows Server 2003 to which clients can run this from?

Yes Sir!  The server GenoPro.com is powered by Windows Server 2003 and is running GenoPro.  By the way, you are welcome to download and install GenoPro on any machine you wish.

Hi,

In your FAQ there is a question of platforms supported;

Q: On what versions of Windows does GenoPro run?
A: GenoPro has been tested on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista

Can you confirm that the software can be installed on Windows Server 2003 to which clients can run this from?

Antoni

Antoni

Is there a special "network install" they need to purchase or is it a standard 3 licences they can purchase and install it on the server with the 3 activation keys registered so if a 4th person tries to run the program from a network share or Terminal server they will be notified that the maximum licences have been reached?

There is no special network installation and we do not monitor the number of licenses.  We rely on the good faith of our customers for purchasing licenses.

Do you have a preferred method of running something like this over a network?

We have no preferences at all.  In fact, we are open to suggestions.  If you have recommendations to make it more convenient to run GenoPro on a network, feel free to contact us.

At the moment they wish to purchase 3 licences to use but would like to use it centrally off a server. Is there a special "network install" they need to purchase or is it a standard 3 licences they can purchase and install it on the server with the 3 activation keys registered so if a 4th person tries to run the program from a network share or Terminal server they will be notified that the maximum licences have been reached?

Do you have a preferred method of running something like this over a network?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

You are welcome to install GenoPro over a network, whatever on a mapped drive such as \\Server\GenoPro or via a terminal server.  There are many benefits of installing GenoPro over a network, and the most important is the installation/upgrade is done at a single location.  Also, all the .gno files can be stored on a central repository, making it easy for the IT department to perform backups, while giving users the access to the .gno files created by others (which may also be a negative thing however).

GenoPro also support command-line installation.

We also have a version with "external storage" where the content of the .gno file can be stored in a database, such as SQL Server, Oracle or simply the file system on the server.  The documentation and source code is available at http://www.genopro.com/sdk/External-Storage/

Hi,

I work for an IT company providing support to a client of ours who wish to use GenoPro but due to their environment of remote sites, multiple users etc, were wondering if it was possible to purchase multiple licences of GenoPro and have it installed Centrally on a server where the remote sites could then connect via a Remote Session and use GenoPro rather than having to install the application locally on each PC that will be used.

Is this possible to have a Network install as opposed to a Standalone install?

Your assistance would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Antoni
